Nuclear Industry

nuclear1 1024x818 - Nuclear IndustryNowhere in the world is the selection and monitoring of welding processes more stringent than the Nuclear industry. The TIP TIG process has been used globally as a solution to complex welding applications and strict nuclear code requirements.
Clients and Applications

The Nuclear world of welding brings many complex alloys into consideration such as the many variations of Stainless Steel, Chrome and Nickel Alloys used in both Commercial and Military projects throughout North America and globally.

Some clients in the nuclear industry include:

  • Westinghouse – Power Generation
  • Northrup Grumman- National Defense / Military
  • Los Alamos National Laboratories – National Defense
  • Bechtel – Power generation / Waste facility construction
  • Intermech – Waste facility construction
  • RV industries – Power generation
  • GE – Power Generation
  • PRL – Defense / Power generation
  • Siemens – Power generation

The Hanford project in Washington State is the largest Nuclear waste containment site currently in clean up The Hanford site represents two-thirds of the nation’s high-level radioactive waste by volume. Hanford is currently the most contaminated nuclear site in the United States and is the focus of the nations largest environmental cleanup. Leading the Construction effort is Bechtel and their subcontractor Intermech.  In the construction of the new facility for processing the much talked about waste, TIP TIG has been extensively used by the contractors seeking the nuclear quality code welding required, realizing significant deposition rate increases as well as the elimination of hexavalent chrome exposure to their craft welders. See article…

Los Alamos Nulcear test labs in New Mexico has been successfully using TIP TIG for various welding applications since 2011.

Northrup Grumman Newport News Shipyard where the Sea Wolf submarines are constructed has adopted the TIP TIG process for welding of their many complex and critical weldments and has recently developed their procedures to include the use of our unique process.

Westinghouse / GE / Siemens and various subcontracors.

These well known companies have all found the benefits of TIP TIG in various applications throughout their industry.
