Think of the applications in which you would typically not consider the regular TIG mode and keep in mind that with the TIP TIG process those rules no longer apply, especially when the TIP TIG welds are made > 100 - 500% higher deposition than regular TIG. When Ziemanns one of the best engineering companies in Germany had a duplex ships container to weld they had lots of experience with pulsed MIG and FCAW on large fabrications and they were not happy with the inconsistent weld quality, the extensive grinding and the fumes generated. They selected TIP TIG.
Two hands on the light weight, water cooled TIP TIG torch and MIG wire feed rates attain TIG weld quality that pleases both the food and beverage industry and the shipping industry. This large duplex application is part of a ship's hold and the container will transport juice and other beverages. TIP TIG produced the all position welds with no concern for sluggish duplex, no weld defects, no weld grinding, no weld spatter, no weld cleaning and minimum distortion and fumes.

It's nice to occasionally steady yourself as you go all the way around the pipe in one go. I guess weld stops and starts in pipe roots are a thing of the past.
